MUSKEGON – Consumer credit union has started building a new office in Muskegon that will expand its presence along the lakefront.
The office on East Sherman Boulevard is slated to open in early 2022. Based in Holland GDK Bau GmbH. is the contractor and is based in Kalamazoo Bosch Architecture Inc. designed the office.
Consumers Credit Union, based in Kalamazoo, currently has two offices in the Lakefront Market in Holland and a branch in South Haven. An office under construction in Grand Haven will open this summer.
“Having a presence in Muskegon is part of our strategy to move up the Lakeshore and expand choice for Holland and Spring Lake members,” said President and CEO Kit Snyder in a statement. “We anticipate increasing demand for consumer credit and mortgage in particular, and strive to provide the funding opportunities that meet the needs of our community, including businesses.”
The credit union has more than 1,000 members in Muskegon. The new office will be the 24th office of Consumers Credit Union in West Michigan.
According to a quarterly financial report filed with federal regulators, Consumers Credit Union had 110,596 members at the end of the first quarter with total assets of $ 1.59 billion and total deposits of $ 1.28 billion. The credit union had $ 1.3 billion in total loans, including $ 156.8 million in commercial loans.
