MILLEDGEVILLE, GEORGIA, UNITED STATES, September 13, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ – Rob Posner, CEO of NewDay USA, and Michael Oursler, COO, presented the Allan B. Posner Memorial Scholarship to a student from a veteran family of the Georgia Military College Prep School, commemorating Patriot Day.
Patriot Day commemorates those killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Georgia Military College commemorated its 13 campuses with events that taught students the importance of September 11, 2001.
“Patriot Day is a solemn, difficult occasion, especially now as we mark the 20th anniversary of September 11th,” said Rob Posner, CEO of NewDay USA. “It is important that we take the time to reflect on what happened that day – but also to recognize the enormous courage of the men and women who followed the call of their country in the years that followed, and to find ways to give something back. That is the goal of the Allan B. Posner Scholarship. “
The scholarship is awarded to the child of a war veteran in Afghanistan and includes teaching for 13 years at the Georgia Military College Prep School. This is the 35th Allan B. Posner Scholarship that Posner has awarded to GMC Prep School students whose parents have a particular military connection.
“The Allan B. Posner Scholarship changed the lives of many of our students so much,” said Dr. Steve Greer, director of the GMC Prep School. “We are extremely grateful to Rob and the NewDay USA team for their continued support for the students and veteran families of Georgia Military College.”
