OTIS Federal Credit Union names Chris Bouchard as new CEO – Daily Bulldog

JAY – OTIS Federal Credit Union announced that Chris Bouchard has been hired as its new President/CEO effective June 13, 2022. He succeeds Roland Poirier, who has served as interim President/CEO since December 2021. Bouchard will lead OTIS Federal Credit Union in its ongoing goal of providing excellent, personalized service to its members and serving the local community.

Commenting on the leadership change, Poirier said, “We are grateful to have Chris on board at OTIS Federal Credit Union. His extensive financial experience will be a great asset and I very much look forward to the future of Credit Union under this new leadership.”

Bouchard comes to OTIS from Dirigo Federal Credit Union, where he held the position of Chief Operations Officer. Bouchard’s qualifications include senior management positions in investment firms and banking institutions, where he led strategic initiatives and processes in areas ranging from contact centers to deposit and lending operations. His 20+ years of proven experience in successfully managing business operations and initiatives and his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Maine made him an ideal candidate for the CEO role.

The application process for the CEO position was very competitive; However, Bouchard’s qualifications and character stood out for the board as he was an excellent fit for OTIS FCU. Duane Lake, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said of Bouchard’s hiring, “Chris not only met our expectations, he exceeded them. We were impressed by his background in finance and his history of successful leadership, and his commitment to the community and desire to help others truly represented the qualities that OTIS Federal Credit Union has always stood for.”

Bouchard was honored to accept the position, saying, “Having been involved in the financial services industry throughout my career, I have developed a strong appreciation for service and dedication. As a lifelong resident of Maine and a member of a credit union, I understand the important role credit unions play in meeting the financial needs of our members and in demonstrating a strong commitment to the communities in which we operate.” Then turned he addressed the OTIS members directly and explained: “The future for OTIS FCU is bright. We look forward to building lasting relationships with you…delivering the products and services you need to continue your journey, with the exceptional service you know and expect from OTIS.”

Bouchard is passionately committed to promoting young talent. In his spare time, Bouchard volunteers as the vice president for Auburn Suburban Baseball and Softball, where he is also the director of minor division baseball. He also volunteers with the Special Olympics of Maine and serves on the Audit and Finance Committees of the Maine Credit Union League. He currently resides in Auburn with his wife and three sons.
